Distinctive Features: Innovation is key. Research projects that demonstrate exceptional scientific merit but lack innovation do not meet the intent of the mechanism. Preliminary data are not required but are allowed for this mechanism. This mechanism includes a blinded pre-application component. Pre-applications to this funding opportunity will undergo a blinded pre-application screening. While preparing your pre-application, do not include any material that may identify the PI, a collaborator, or the organization of the PI or collaborator.
